Electrolysis is suitable for treating most areas of the body; however, it is particularly recommended for smaller regions, such as the chin, upper lip, eyebrows, and areas with remaining hair after laser hair removal. While smaller areas are typically preferred, electrolysis also serves as an effective option for individuals with light-colored or white hair, which cannot effectively be treated by laser hair removal.

Electrolysis is the only method approved by the FDA for the permanent removal of unwanted hair. Unlike other treatments that only offer temporary hair removal, electrolysis prevents regrowth, providing both effective hair removal and permanent hair elimination. It is suitable for all skin types, hair types, skin colors, hair colors, and areas of the body. Electrolysis is a safe procedure with minimal temporary side effects.

The number of electrolysis treatments required for permanent hair removal varies from client to client. However, those who follow the recommended treatment schedule typically achieve their desired results within 12 to 18 months. Visible improvement is often noticed within a few months of starting treatment, provided the client sticks to consistently showing up to appointments. It is imperative that the client comes when they are scheduled for the treatment to work effectively. The hair follicle must be destroyed in the first phase of its regrowth. Several factors can influence the treatment process, including hair growth cycles, how much hair you have present, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, heredity, hormonal fluctuations, normal physiological changes, certain medications, and stress. Hairs that have been tweezed, waxed, or are particularly curly may return as finer hairs.

Electrolysis, while generally safe, can have temporary side effects Like swelling, scabbing, redness and tenderness. In some cases, it can lead to temporary changes in skin color, scarring, or the development of keloid scars. As long as the treatment is done correctly, there should be no major side effects. Electrolysis is a commitment and must be followed through properly for effective results. The aftercare is important as well, this is up to the client to adhere to.

Visiting an electrolysis clinic is an investment, and it tends to be more expensive than alternatives like threading, waxing, or shaving. However, the value becomes evident when you consider what you are truly paying for—the peace of mind knowing that you will never have to worry about hair removal in that area again. Think of it as paying for a year’s worth of waxing upfront, with the added benefit of lifetime results. The cost of electrolysis varies based on the size of the area being treated. Small areas, such as the eyebrows, upper lip, or chin, may only require 15-30 minute sessions. For larger areas like the legs, chest, back, or underarms, the treatment may take longer, with 45-minute to hour-long sessions typically sufficient for an initial treatment.

Electrolysis is a treatment similar to laser, with the key distinction being that it provides permanent hair removal. The level of pain or discomfort experienced during electrolysis varies depending on factors such as the clients’s overall sensitivity, the sensitivity of the area being treated, and the amount of hair present. Usually any discomfort during the treatment is brief and fades quickly. Additionally, a numbing cream can be applied to the area before the procedure, which can help with pain.

Unlike laser hair removal, electrolysis can be done on skin with tattoos. The probe penetrates to a deeper part of the skin, so your tattoos will not be effected by the electrical current!

A free consultation will be provided to all clients. It is advised that you refrain from shaving, plucking, or using hair removal creams for at least 3 days prior to your appointment. This will allow us to better assess the current phase of your hair growth. Your initial appointment may involve waxing, which is recommended as it effectively removes all hair from the current growth phase, essentially “resetting” the hair. This ensures that when you return for your next treatment, all hairs are at a uniform length and untouched, resulting in a more consistent and efficient experience for both the client and myself.
